I grew up in the developing world facing many economic and political challenges. That is what makes me passionate about being an IPE scholar; being able to research and instruct students about perspectives of the global political economy and its repercussions. To be able to see and understand developmental constraints, as well as finding and providing practical examples of failures and achievements towards developmental goals.
I also believe that nothing represents world politics, economics, and culture like fútbol (soccer) does. The gap between "haves and have nots" in soccer is as big as in the real world, except, there is no supranational organization :-/
